Hammurabi was a young boy when  he was Babylon king.  He was a great ruler because he turned Babylon into a large powerful state.  Another example why Hammurabi was a great ruler was because he directed projects like building city walls, restoring temples,digging, and cleaning irrigation canals.  One other reason he was a great ruler was because he arranged city streets in straight lines.  He also fought for many years to control a river.  One thing that the codes cover was bringing water to  the fields.  Another code ment violent punishment.  Another code ment to not allowed no explanation from an accused person.  One code protected the areas.

I agree that if anyone gives another silver, gold,or anything else to keep he must show it to a witness, draw up a contract, and hand it over for safe keeping.  I agree because what about if someone stole it from that person and he or she didn’t have prove that they stole it.

I don’t agree that if a son strikes his father his hands must be hewn off.  I don’t agree because that is not fare and he should just be punished not have his hands hewn off.
