The Amazing Nile

The Amazing Nile

The Nile is very important to the Egyptians. There lives relied on the river. This amazing river allowed the Egyptians to start life in the harsh desert. The Nile god was worshiped when the Nile was flooded or the ground was rich and fertile. This river was used in various ways. Many myths were made in honor of the Nile. The Nile was considered as a life giver.

The Nile allowed Egyptians to develop a very distinctive society. Without Nile Egypt would be desert. All the citizens of Egypt wouldn’t exist. Egypt provided fertilizer so they could get plants and crops to grow. This amazing 4000 mile long river was a true life giver. The Nile river provided trade and transportation. Trade allowed Egyptians to trade gold for like wood, paper, and different foods. The wood would be used to make wood houses instead of dirt homes. A true fact about Egypt is that the Nile was never named by Egyptians so the name Nile is made up by other people.

Nile gods did a very important role in the Egypt’s life. Hapi was worshiped by many Egyptians.  Hapi didn’t have a temple for himself, and he was not compared to any other god because they thought Hapi was not that important.  When the Nile flooded they would thank Hapi. They thanked Hapi because they could finally plant crops and make food. There is a small myth about Osiris the god of the underworld. It says that Osiris’s brother murdered him by the bank of the river. Osiris was a very powerful god, but was not the god of the Nile.

The Nile was used by the Egyptians for many reasons. The river was mainly used to drink water. The water was fresh and clean. Well not clean because they used the Nile to go to the bathroom too. Many fish used to live, well still live in the Nile river. They caught the fish and ate them. Fish have many calcium so that was good for them. The Nile river was also used to carry the huge blocks of rocks to make the pyramids. They took them from one part of the river to another. Pretty amazing! Imagine taking tons and tons of pounds of rock across the river. That would be hard work!

The Nile played a very important role in the Egyptians life. Without the Nile, Egyptians wouldn’t of have been alive. Hapi did a hard job too. Egyptians got water and food  from the Nile. Remember without the Nile, Egypt would be just desert.

Egyptian Civilization

The Egypt civilization  was one of the greatest civilizations in the world. Even though Egyptians lived in the desert, they made a great life by the Nile River. The temples and pyramids are amazing. I can’t believe that these temples and pyramids are made out of mud and stone. Slaves must of been really strong because they made the pyramids with their bare hands.

I made this small video in a website called Animoto. It is a free site that lets you create your own little videos. You get pictures and pick a song that you want. Then you render your video and poof,  you have made your own video. It is really fun.
