I picked question number one. (question) Caleb combined the numbers -29, -15, and 8. Then he multiplied the results by -3. What was the correct result? Step1 I first added -29 and -15. I got -44. Step2 I added 8 i got -36. step 3 multiply 3 and -36 I got -108.
For this weeks word problem I picked number five. ( Question) How many quarts are in 8 gallons. First the thing that helped me sove this question was because the gallon man I have in my note book. Step 1) First, you know that their are 4 quarts in 1 gallon.
Step2) You want to find it for 8 gallons so you multiply 4 ( cause that is how many quarts there are in one gallon) and 8 ( because that is how much gallons there are) It equals 32. So there are 32 quarts in 8 gallons.
For this weeks Math word problem, I chose Number Five, [25- (-7) + 12] + (-15) x 5. First you have to do whatever is inside the brakets. So 25 – -7, L(leave) C(Change) O(Opposite). So using the LCO it will be like this 25 + +7= 32. Up next, you add 12 and 32 giving you a sum of… uhh 44. YAY! we cleared what is in the brakets. you have 44 + (-15). you don’t use the leave change and opposite because that is only on subtraction. Let me tell you somethin’ you are adding or I am adding a positive number with a nagative number so its sort of subtracting, but we still don’t use the LCO. Lets do the question 44 + -15 I got 29. We don’t put it as a negative because the positive number is greater than the negative number. you understand? if not then tell Mrs. Judd. All we have To do is multiply 29 and 5. lets find the answer……… I got 145. I think that is the answer. Okay Bye
