I picked #2 for my problem. A certain map uses a scale of 1 inch equals 25 miles. How many miles are represented by 5 inches on this map? There is 3 steps to find the answer to the problem.
Step 1) Look for your most important information in the math problem.
Step 2) Multiply 25 & 5.
Step 3) You get 125.
So the map represents 125 miles.
I also chose problem 4 which states, A company makes 5 blue cars for every 3 white cars. If the company makes 15 white cars in one day, how many blue cars will it make?
Step1) Count by 5 until you get to 15.
Step2) So the Number of times you counted to get to 15 is 3 right. So now multiply 3 & 3 and you’ll get 9.
So they would make 9 blue cars every time they make 15 white cars.
5) The vice president of sales took a client out to lunch. If the lunch was $44.00 and she left a 20% tip, how much money did she spend on lunch?
Step 1) Write a proportion. 20%/100 = N/44
Step 2) Cross Multiply.
Step 3) Divide
So she will leave $8.80 for a tip.

Hi Edgar,
Nice job on your blogs. You will receive extra credit for the additional ones. However, look at your last answer. Did you answer the question? Did she really just spend $8.80 on lunch? be careful with word problems. make sure you answer what is being asked.
